Hi, there! I send warm wishes to those of you who are in areas hit with this severe winter weather in the United States. Here in Indiana, we didn’t get the large snow, but we are dealing with sub-zero temperatures overnight and the morning, with single digits during the day. 🥶 Let’s hope it warms up soon!
This week on Autism & ADHD Connection, I share information about hyperfocus when your child has ADHD.
It seems contradictory that your child could spend hours focused on one activity while being completely distracted most other times to the task on hand. You can also learn the difference between hyperfocus and special interests. (And, yes, your child can hyperfocus on an activity related to their special interest. Mine certainly does!) More importantly, I share ways you can help manage the time your child stays hyperfocused on their preferred activity to make sure they are doing the things that must be done, like homework, chores, meals, bathroom breaks, etc.
